Last year in December I warped my little loom with some very textured pure silk yarn. Without any plan or even something close to an idea of a finished project.
Due to other things, projects, courses, everyday life, the warp was put into a corner of the room and stayed there.
Until March this year.
I felt an incredible urge to finish this piece. Even if I still didn’t know what I would do with it once finished. It would definitely be too short for a scarf. That I knew for sure.

For the time being I just settled for choosing the yarns for the weft, just go with the flow and see where I would end up.
The weft is made of a wool-silk blend, also with quite some texture, and handspun flax or linen. The soft wool-silk blend and the courser flax made for a very nice, natural contrast in both colour and texture.
Once finished the piece almost looked like a table runner but was too short for any table we have here in our appartment. Except for one standing by my side of the bed.

This little table was already decorated with four stones found in the local river. Right above it hangs this wood carving my husband gifted me years ago and just recently I placed my wooden staff there for drying (That’s a story for another time.) and my rattle I showed you a few post before also found it’s place there.

Without realizing this little bedside table had turned into a little altar. Completely natural and without force (well, not my force anyway).
I couldn’t think of a better place for this nameless project turned table runner to decorate this special place. And so that’s where it ended up. Perfectly natural, unplanned, just like the rest of the items in this precious corner of my home.

So yeah, don’t you just love it, when things come together?
Oh yes, I love it too, when things come together <3
