Today no spinning or weaving. Today I felt the need to be creative in a different way.
Taking tonight’s full moon as inspiration I set to drawing some power symbols.
Tonight’s full moon has many names: Pink Moon, Egg Moon, Seed Moon, Paschal Moon and many more. This is the one full moon between Ostara (Spring Equinox) and Beltane (May Eve or Walpurgisnight).
This time I’d like to focus on the name Paschal Moon.
The Paschal Moon, in most years, is used to determine the date of Easter (not Ostara!). Easter is usually on the next Sunday after the full Paschal Moon. Paschal stems from the Latin word Pascha, meaning passover.
For this power symbol I combined the moon glyph for full moon and the rune Inguz, which represents internal growth, (the act of) creation, the seed. Since another name for this full moon is Seed Moon I found this combination to be quite fitting.
